Pasta salad

I love pasta salad. Even though I haven't made it in a while. I pinned this ( http://www.bestfoodcloud.com/2014/05/ranch-pasta-salad.html?m=1 ) from my sister the other day and mom pinned it from me today. So I thought this was a perfect recipe to make today!

Well, I made it but I tweaked it to my tastes. I'm not a fan of Greek yogurt or fat free mayo but if you are I commend you on your excellent taste buds and so go for it!

So here we go for ingredients. By the way I don't measure much of anything. A little bit of this and a little bit of that is how I like to cook.

•1 bag or box of pasta (I used a 12oz bag of gluten free spirals. And btw best gluten free pasta I've had yet!)
•Mini mixed peppers - orange,  yellow and red (I might have used 6 total. But who's counting)
•pre diced ham
•real bacon bits in a jar
•diced mild cheddar cheese
•carrot (I'm not a fan of carrots so I only used half a carrot, thin sliced and slices cut in half)
•frozen peas, thawed
•broccoli
•mayo
•sour cream
•packet of ranch dip mix

I cooked the pasta as the directions said. Well sort of. I didn't measure out 4 qts of water and I added a little bit of salt to the water. I did cook it for about 8 mins. Tasted it ad fell in love with the pasta. If used rice based pasta before and it just falls apart. This is corn based pasta and tastes Amazing!

While the pasta was cooking I started cutting up my carrot, peppers, broccoli and cheese while stirring the pasta every once and a while. I put all my veggies in a plastic container because that's what was right there. Just to hold everything in place. Once I was done cutting the pasta was done. I drained the pot and put it in the fridge to cool off. While it sat there for us pregnant folk, I rinsed the ham and bacon bits and microwaved them. The ham I rinsed again but the bacon bits I put in the freezer to harden back up and cool off.

Once all that was done the pasta was cooled. I did go in and stir in some so it would continue to cool down. So I pulled the pasta out of the fridge

Dumped the veggies and pig in the pot

Added a little bit of mayo and a little bit of sour cream and the ranch packet.

And mix! VoilĂ !

I was putting my now made pasta salad in a container and realized it was all going to fit. Guess I'll have to eat the rest!

I hope you have enjoined this post and recipe. I try to eat healthy but always find a way to fatten up the recipe.
